There are plenty of people that have dogs and most of these people may not be at home all day to take care of their dogs and yet, they cannot always just leave the dog inside the house either. These look like wireless internet routers but take note that your dog will still need a special collar. It is great to have these invisible fences because when your dog even attempts to put one paw out of line, a slight jolt will put him back in place. It will be just the tiniest of shocks so you do not have to worry that your dog will get hurt in any way. But you do need those batteries in the collar so that it stays on and so that your dog stays in place.

Keep in mind that you may invest in the most expensive invisible fence system in the world but if the batteries in your dog’s collar are dead then he or she can go anywhere he or she wants and will be open to injuries and even attacks by other dogs or even just hostile humans or wild animals even. You do not want to be responsible for your dog getting injured simply because you were too lazy to check the dog fence batteries. So just how do you maintain your dogs collar batteries? For one thing, if you have a particularly stubborn dog that is always trying to cross the fence that will cause the dog fence batteries to get drained faster. You may also want to make sure that the collar does not have any moisture as that may wreak havoc on your batteries.

Now the collar may come with the factory made batteries and while they may work fine, there are some makers of dog fence batteries that may offer you better batteries that last longer and are easier to dispose of. When you are changing the batteries, make sure that you do not displace any parts especially the rubber gasket which makes sure the collar and the batteries stay nice and dry if ever your dog decides to jump in the pool or roll in a puddle.
